It appeared that many art lovers had had their fill of cabin fever, for they were out in droves and in high spirits for last Friday night’s gallery openings in the Central West End.
At Atrium Gallery Proprietor Carolyn Miles is photographed with gallery assistants, Carol Stern, left and Lisa Simini, right. Doug Salveson’s oil on canvas Garden Wall 180: Bonaire is shown above.
Artist Fred Nelson, above, with Serenity, pastel on rag paper.
Also on view at Atrium Gallery, Michael Marshall’s Varigation #27 & #28, monoprints on Rives.
At Philip Slein Gallery, Philip Slein, right, is photographed with artist Edo Rosenblith (see post here), in front of a painting by Jamie Adams.
Centro Modern Furnishings Todd Lannom and Brian Clore are shown in front of another of Adams’ paintings. The artist was at the opening but was surrounded by fans so I was not able to get his photograph.
At Duane Reed Gallery, Tom Huck’s Electric Baloneyland from his New Work series. “Known for his large scale woodcut prints, Puck tackles modern American society with a caustic and satirical approach on values and culture.”
Huck’s The Transformation of Brandy Baghead, above.
Live art at Duane Reed Gallery, above.
Charlie Houska, proprietor of Houska Gallery, above, also had a packed house on Friday evening.
Shown above is artist Zack Smithey with his Blue Vibrations A, B, C, & D, enamel paint on 32″ square wood panels.
Smithey’s Lincoln Vibrations, 48″ x 48″ enamel paint on wood panel.
Part II: Snapshots from Amongst Friends at projects+gallery.
Just wanted to say great job on your blog, always enjoy it.
Did want to let you know that a name on the photo credit for Atrium isn’t correct—sorry, but the young woman is Carolyn Stern, not Carol. Thnx!
Thanks for the comment Robin. Carolyn Stern goes by Carol at Atrium because there would be two women named Carolyn otherwise. Carolyn Miles is the proprietor. Hope this helps.
