Shop News:
Enchanted Attic (see post here), an annex of Enchanting Embellishments, has moved from 4742 McPherson Avenue, shown below, to what was until recently Kopperman’s at 368 N. Euclid Avenue, above. The shop, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., re-opened in its new location today.
Enchanted Attic’s relocation signals exciting retail news for the neighborhood, as the Candle Fusion Studio is set to open in that recently-vacated space in early December. “We’re thrilled to bring an extraordinary experience to St. Louis,” said proprietor Deanna McClintock Lester. The studio will feature 100+ scent oils that can be blended together to create a custom, hand-poured candle. The candle “bar” will include a private party room which will be available for groups up to 25.
The Pop-Up Restaurant Scene:
The neighborhood has been a popular destination for restaurateurs to test the market by holding pop-up dinners in CWE venues. For the past year Tara and Michael Gallina, formerly of Blue Hill at Stone Barns, have created buzz-worthy notice with a series of Rooster & the Hen events around town, including at local hotspots Cafe Osage at Bowood Farms and Eva’s Attic above Juniper (which began life as a pop up itself).
Though the Gallinas have since found a permanent location in the CWE’s Cortex District at Duncan and Boyle Avenues, construction is behind schedule and Vicia (see earlier post here) won’t open its doors until early 2017. In the meantime, for those anxious to experience the Gallinas’ imaginative cuisine, there is a new series of pop-up dinners scheduled over the next couple of months at The Block, 33 N. Sarah, and Cafe Osage at Bowood Farms, 4605 Olive Street. See info below, and click here to learn more and make reservations.
On October 29, rising stars at Washington University, Sachi Nagase and Katie Yun, below, held a pop-up dinner at TechArtista, 4818 Washington Avenue.
The sold-out event for 35 guests featured a ten-course meal inspired by Japanese and Korean cuisine.
The menu reflected the food showcased in TechArtista’s arresting 3rd floor mural, “Supper Club,” by artist Edo Rosenblith, above.

TechArtista is hosting a 2nd Supper Club event this Friday, November 11, at 7 p.m. The 8-course vegan dinner (soup to dessert), $40, will be prepared by nationally-and-internationally-known chef Warren Kramer of Boston, MA. Click here for details.
