About 75 members of STL Village and their guests organized a happy hour on 'Scape's back patio, entry above. In April the group gathered for a Grand Launch of STL Village at the Missouri History Museum. The launch attracted a standing-room only crowd of several hundred people interested in learning more about this membership organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of people age 50+ who want to continue living at home and staying active.
Arthur Culbert, middle, is the prime mover behind STL Village. He is shown standing with his wife, Nancy, right, Madeline Franklin (back to camera) and Gail Brown, left.
Other STL Village members pictured above are Mary Bruemmer, left, Mary Ann Tipton, and Gloria Gordon, right. Gloria is another key player behind the organization. The services STL Village provides enables her to stay in her CWE condo giving her family (who live out of town) peace of mind, while letting Gloria live near her many friends, which she prefers.
Not all STL Village activities are social. On Monday, June 23, there's a Financial Literacy Workshop at 10 a.m. at the Schlafly Library, 335 N. Euclid. The topic is "Be Aware: Seniors and Financial Abuse Awareness."
