If you haven't eaten at The Majestic over the past fifty years, you have only a few days left to do so. The Greek restaurant, a hot-spot, especially for breakfast in the neighborhood, is closing this Friday, April 4 Sunday, April 6. Pete Politis, second-generation owner of The Majestic, is selling (or has sold) the business. The Majestic is open until 2 p.m. each day through Sunday.
Rumors abound about what's next for the location at the busy intersection of Laclede & Euclid (just north of BJC), but nothing's been confirmed as yet. Stay tuned.
I had breakfat this morning (Wed April 2) at the Majestic and the server (whose shall remain nameless and is devastated) told me Sunday was the last day. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was closed tomorrow.
The server also told me the new owner was opening a BBQ restaurant but would keep breakfast service. I don’t know why someone would buy a going concern to make it something different when there is empty restaurant space in the neighborhood they could just lease.
It’s a very sad day.
