Alderman Lyda Krewson offered to share the final design for the OPUS Project proposed for 4643 Lindell at Euclid with readers of the blog. As you know from earlier posts about the public meetings that were held to present this proposed development, the CWEA's Planning & Development Committee was very much involved in suggesting improvements to the original plan for such a prominent corner. Here is a link (sorry link wasn't working, it is now) to the post about the public meeting and the committee's suggestions it made on behalf of the neighborhood.
From Lyda today: "The 12 story, $68 million project, includes 217 apartments, 10,000 s.f. of commercial space, pool, club room and fitness club.
Revised plans (see link above photo) include a 3rd level of parking underground. This results in 291 total spaces, 251 for residents and 40 dedicated to the retail/restaurant space.
Opus hopes to begin construction early this summer."
Having lived in the CWE since 1972 I have experienced many changes. Hate the gentrification who celebrate the mediocrity of small town conservative mentality and the desire to continue view STL and the CWE in partiular as a low rise city. I remember the original plans for Lindell / Euclid and West Pine / Euclid as well as Ball Park Village … we have become so provincial since the suburbanites moved here!!!
