Following the kids parade, neighborhood canines were readied for their runway moment. Enterprising young Pershing Place residents set up a concession stand along the parade route to benefit Stray Rescue. Hot chocolate, apple cider, and dog treats were offerings of the day. Boom times continue for the Central West End with the announcement that a $40 Million AC Hotel by Marriott is planned for York Avenue between Lindell Boulevard and Maryland Plaza. Families paraded south on Euclid Avenue from McPherson to the main stage at Maryland and Euclid Avenues. On the main stage, Circus Kaput performer Joe Fingerhut, above right, and a talented young volunteer taught the enthusiastic crowd some fun dance moves.
