Ah, Halloween 2023. Saturday morning dawned with frosty temperatures and cloudy skies. Would the annual CWE Halloween festivities be a rain-out or just a very chilly day? Turns out it was both. The Children’s and Dog parades, which were held at 10 and 1, went off without a hitch. There were many CWE families and those from over the region participating, as well as a few “celebs.” A parade needs cheering spectators too, and there were plenty of those gathered along the route on Euclid from McPherson to Maryland Plaza .
Unfortunately, the nighttime festivities did not fare as well. The Adult Costume Contest was called off at the last minute due to rain. I have photographs of what remained of that event to share, and news about how the costume contest, the highlight of the annual event, was handled. More on that soon.
Meanwhile, enjoy the photos below:
Parade-goers assembled on the parking lot at McPherson and Walton.
Posing for photographs were from left, Ariel, Elsa, and Anna. The actresses, from Enchanted Events, were definitely enchanting with the children, some of whom were in such awe they needed encouragement to approach.
Barbie, followed by dancers from the CWE’s Consuming Kinetics Dance Company, led the parade to Maryland Plaza.
Costumes on both children and adults were as clever and imaginative as ever.
This little boy’s mother said he was thrilled with his Tommy and Friends costume. Love the hat!
Next up: The Dog Parade.
Looks like fun. Thanks for sending all of your wonderful CWE updates
Those are wonderful photos! Great to see families & friends having a fun holiday event in the CWE again!
