Approximately 50 kids descended on Kennedy Park at Washington and Olive with parents in tow last Sunday afternoon for the annual CWE Families and Friends Easter Egg Hunt. As you can see in the photo below, there were plenty of candy-filled eggs for everyone—a little over 2000, according to Dan Boccabella, president of the organization.
9th Ward Alderman Michael Browning. above, and his wife Sarah Kogan, shown in last photograph, were among the volunteers who helped “hide” the eggs.
The Easter Bunny mingled with the families waiting for the 3 p.m. start.
Dan Boccabella, above left, directed kids 6 and under to hunt for eggs at the west end of the pocket park, and the older kids to the playground area.
A photo op with the Easter Bunny was captured by Boccabella’s wife, Robyn LeBoeuf, right.
After the last of the eggs had been collected, families were asked to empty the candy into their baskets so the eggs could be recycled for next year’s Easter Egg Hunt, above and below.
With gratitude to Dan Boccabella, president of CWE Families and Friends, and all the volunteers who helped put the event together, as well as to the generous sponsors, the Central West End Association and the CWE North Community Improvement District (CWEscene.com).

I love this CWE tradition. Great job as always, Dan!
