After a 3-year hiatus, Sam Koplar and his partner Andrew Yule are moving ahead on the 30-story Albion-West End apartment project at the prominent corner of Lindell and Kingshighway. The partners engaged a new architectural firm, Lamar Johnson Collaborative, to revise their well-received original plans, shown below.
The new design features decorative metal panels arranged in an irregular pattern. Instead of 293 apartments in the original plans, there are now 300.
The Albion – West End at 30-storys, located between the 36-story One Hundred Above the Park and the iconic 26-story 1929 Park Plaza, will not only add vitality to the neighborhood, it will also transform that long-vacant lot into what promises to be a stunning addition to the Kingshighway skyline facing Forest Park.
At Kingshighway and McPherson:
There is more good news on the development front from Pier Property Group’s Michael Hamburg. Construction on the 5-story “Flats at Forest Park” to be built on top of the 2-story Reliance Automotive building at McPherson and Kingshighway will finally begin this spring/summer.
According to Hamburg, the project, which was announced 3 years ago this month, has been delayed because of difficulty raising capital in an environment of escalating construction costs and higher interest rates.
Flats at Forest Park, which features 144 apartments and 127 parking spaces, also includes a fitness center with yoga/cycling room, dog spa, business center, and bike storage.

Wow! Great news! St. Louis is going back to its old glory.
Thank you Nicki!
Great news. Thanks Nikki. Maxine
Thanks for this news. What’s happening at the former Wildflower and Einstein properties at Laclede and Euclid? Seems like prime real estate to be sitting empty for so long.
All good news! Looking forward to watching both projects rise into the skyline! It’s very exciting!
Great news. Let’s just hope it isn’t more of the developers wishful thinking
Thank you for the update and great news.
