The Opus Group, developer of Citizen Park at the corner of Lindell Blvd. and Euclid Ave., has worked with the City of St. Louis Street Department on details of an upcoming closure of Lindell Boulevard from Euclid to Taylor Avenues starting Tuesday, December 27th at 6:00 p.m. and ending Thursday night, December 29 at 11:30 p.m. Limited access to Lindell will be from Taylor for businesses and residents located east of the OPUS project, including the Holiday Inn Express and Bank of America.
The closure is necessary for crews and equipment required to dismantle and remove the construction crane that has loomed over the site for the past year. Due to the size of the equipment needed to remove the crane, as well as space limitations due to a storm water retention tank and Ameren transformers located on the site, the work could not be accomplished within the building site. The crane must be taken down section by section and laid on the street (Lindell) to be further dismantled before being hauled away.
It is estimated that it will take 6 to 8 hours to assemble the equipment needed to perform the work, another 6 to 8 to disassemble it, and about 20 hours of work in between.
In a release The Opus Group apologized “for the inconvenience this closure will cause. We look forward to our completion (of Citizen Park) this spring and to becoming a valuable member of the neighborhood. “
