Friday night was a stellar example of why it's so wonderful to live in an urban neighborhood that could be described as Small Town USA.
The CWE was full of people, dining outside on a gorgeous evening or listening to musicians such as Bumble Bee Bob, above, who drew an admiring crowd as he played the blues on his National Steel guitar in front of Left Bank Books. Kate Haher, Executive Director of the CWE North Community Improvement District, has arranged for entertainment along Euclid Ave. each Friday night this summer and into early fall.
The Central West End Association held its First Friday Happy Hour at TechArtista, 4818 Washington Ave. It was a chance for some to see the co-working space for the first time. TechArtista, founded by W.U. grads Eric Hamblett and Chris Holt, was celebrating its 2nd Anniversary and the 3-story space quickly filled with a mix of generations, another reason to enjoy living in an urban neighborhood. Artist Barb Flunker, not photographed, drew many followers to her one-night exhibition at Amy Johnson's pop-up, KayOss Designs, next door to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, below, which was packed as well.
