Coffee's on at The Vino Gallery, 4701 McPherson Avenue at Walton Row, where proprietor Alex Head's new coffee bar opened almost two weeks ago.
Alex's brother Elliot, above, is the barista for the new venture. A variety of coffee drinks are on tap featuring fan-favorite Goshen Coffee. All the usuals are available including latte ($3.75 to $4.25), drip coffee ($2.50 to $3), and Americano ($2.50 to $3), as well as chai latte, a variety of teas (hot or iced), and house-made pastries. This morning there was a selection of chocolate chip cookies and mini-muffins. More baked goods will be added as recipes are perfected over the coming weeks. Other food items, available any time of day, include Brie and fruit, $6, and hummus & pita, $6.
Coffee cocktails – Espresso Old Fashioned and Chai & Rye – will be served in the evening. The coffee service is of course, in addition to continued offerings from the shop's main focus, a fine selection of wines. There is comfortable seating inside and on the patio out front (see first photo).
