Billy Burnett entertained in front of Libby's on McPherson while artists Angela Perry and Cbabi Byanoc painted nearby.
Annie, an English setter who recently moved to the neighborhood with his owner Chris Neaville, right, had a tip tucked into her collar for musician Mark Pagano, right, and a fellow musician, whose name I regrettably cannot remember. They were playing near Club Viva.
A Dream Analyst set up shop in front of Coffee Cartel.
And musicians Mario y Julio were back at Local Social entertaining alongside Coffee Cartel.
A father and son watched a fire juggler at the Maryland Plaza fountain.
Singer Hilary Scott and AJ Gennaro entertained by the fountain too. More of Hilary's music can be heard on the short video, below, which opens with a comment from artist and photographer Jeff Sass as he explains how he times the development of a photograph in his Afghan Box Camera. You will see him reach into the suitcase (his camera) to move the film from one bowl to another as it develops.
Everything that is needed to take a photograph and develop it is contained in the suitcase, which Jeff Sass, above, built himself. Here is a link to more information about Afghan Box Cameras.
I love the photograph Jeffrey took of me. It's currently on the blog and my Facebook page.
While my photograph was being taken, I overheard a woman say to another woman, who arrived at the fountain at the same time, "didn't I just meet you in San Francisco?" What are the odds of that happening in St. Louis?
And here is Jeff shown focusing for another shot, above,
…and of the subject and his photo, which was still in the process of drying.
As I have observed previously, you never know what you might encounter on the sidewalks of the CWE during the monthly Local Social events, which are sponsored by the Community Improvement District. The next Local Social is scheduled for Friday, August 8th.
Reason, yet again, why the CWE is the best place to live in MO.
