If you're curious about the hubbub on Maryland Plaza yesterday morning, photographer Brian Cummings was using the neighborhood as a backdrop for an advertising campaign for Clayton-based Brown Shoe's Lifestride Brand.
This evening (Wednesday) 600+ Anheuser Busch employees (and wholesalers), in town for training/meetings, will be brought to the CWE for dinner. Buses will be dropping guests off on Lindell at York starting around 6:45 p.m. and ending at 7:15 p.m. Each group (representing a different AB region of the country – about 75 to 100 per group) will walk down York to Maryland and then will head to their assigned restaurant for dinner and drinks. After dinner, each group will stop in two other restaurants (list follows) along the Maryland/Euclid corridor.
All AB attendees will be given wristbands which allows them to receive free AB beer and access to food in the different restaurants. Participating restaurants include: Lester's, Brennan's, Culpepper's, SubZero, Gamlin Whiskey House, Drunken Fish, Bar Louie, Bar Italia, 'Scape, and Mandarin.
Around 10 p.m. those AB employees wishing to stay in the CWE will head over to the Courtyard Bar at Scape and Mandarin. The evening festivities will end at 12 a.m. when buses will pick attendees up from the same location as drop-off and transport them back to their hotels.
A note to the neighborhood: All the restaurants, which will be open to the public while the event is in progress, have wristbands to hand out to special clients. Those wearing a wristband will be treated to food and complimentary AB products. Coffee Cartel has wristbands to distribute but is not participating as it doesn't sell beer. Anheuser-Busch also has a limited number of wristbands it's offering to members of the Central West End Association. CWEA members should email the Association to claim a wristband ([email protected]). Wristbands will be available for pick up at the CWEA office (4814 Washington Ave.) between 2 and 5 this afternoon.
Yet another awesome perk of being a CWEA member!
