The Central West End Association's Annual House Tour is the neighborhood organization's biggest fundraiser of the year. Board members have worked tirelessly to persuade Portland Place homeowners to open their homes to the public, and the homeowoners in turn have spent weeks getting their houses ready for viewing. A huge number of volunteers are lending a hand staffing the houses and learning whatever they can about these historic structures to share with tour-goers.
Your opportunity to get a peek inside these mansions, on one of the prettiest urban streets in the country, starts with Friday evening's Preview Party. The event includes plenty of hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and music inside a beautiful Portland Place home that is open exclusively for the party – it is not on the regular tour the following two days. From 6 to 9 p.m. Friday you'll have the luxury of taking your sweet old time viewing the houses, and returning for a second or third look on Saturday and Sunday. Preview Party tickets are $75 (visit the website for more info).
General admission tickets are $22 in advance and can be purchased at Pulaski Bank locations or Left Bank Books. Tickets are $25 the day of the tour, Saturday from 10 to 4 and Sunday from 12 to 4. See you there!
