The fifth annual Boo-Wood celebration at Bowood Farms was much simpler and quieter, though no less fun, than the fabulous Children's Parade in the CWE the Saturday before Halloween. The casual displays of pumpkins and gourds at Bowood offered inviting spots to sit and watch the action for toddlers like darling Lily above.
The schedule included hands-on activities such as a scavanger hunt and pumpkin painting. Summy Charles, Audrey Rickard, and Gray Douglass, left to right above, got as far as Clue #2 before taking a break to pose for the camera.
Staff members helped children decorate miniature pumpkins with paint and sparkles, above and below.
Whenever I am at Bowood with my camera for an event such as this, it is difficult not to be distracted by the eye candy on display in the yard. I may stop back for a pot of these purple petunias, hoping to stretch fall color for a few more weeks.
