2020’s Window Walk concluded on Saturday evening with a performance by a tap dancing troupe from Central Visual Performing Arts High School, 3125 S. Kingshighway. The troupe is led by Ray Parks, the head of the dance department at Central VPA, who is a longtime friend of Maryland Plaza’s Ted Koplar. “We’ve worked together since my television days with Team 11 (KPLR),” Koplar said.
In addition to his teaching schedule Ray Parks has been choreographing television commercials, musicals, videos and sports videos for the past 35 years. Parks and his staff have made Central VPA known as “the best public high school for dance in the Midwest.”
Ever the promoter, Ted Koplar is planning to schedule more performances around the fountain in the months ahead. Stay tuned to this blog and also to CWEScene.com for updates.
Seeing these photos makes me want to get out my tap shoes and “shuffle ball change” right out of 2020. How about you?
Have a Merry Christmas.
