MetroBus has announced system-wide changes to bus schedules and routes effective tomorrow, September 30, that include some discontinued stops. Of local interest is the news that #1 Gold-Local bus service, which connects the Mallinckrodt Transit Center at the Washington University Danforth Campus with the BJC/Washington University Medical Center, will no longer serve McPherson, Euclid and Maryland.
Service on the revised route will run along Kingshighway between Waterman and Forest Park Ave., then east to Taylor and south to the CWE Transit Center at Children’s Place.
Service on the #18 Taylor-Local bus route will offer enhanced 30-minute frequency.
More information can be found on the MetroBus Reimagined website.
Perhaps the best news of all is that large buses will no longer be traversing Maryland Avenue between Taylor and Euclid, a route change that went into effect on a “temporary basis” in 2015 when construction began on Citizen Park (at Euclid and Lindell).
