This summer's weather has certainly been atypical—the month of July went out like early fall. August promises to bring the return of warmer temperatures. To keep you "styling" and perhaps add some pizazz to the same old same old, check out what's available in the neighborhood shops. A bonus to getting out from today through Sunday is that this is tax-free weekend in Missouri. That means no sales tax on clothing priced under $100. The shops I've featured are within the Community Improvement District (except Bowood Farms, see below, which is not located in the District), and will be charging a 1% tax that gets plowed back into neighborhood beautification and marketing.
At Mary Jane's, 387 N. Euclid, above, you'll find blue ankle jeans from blank nyc, $95, "rich & skinny" yellow jeans, $155, a darling yellow-lace-covered clutch, $65, havaiana flip-flops, $25, & an orange Lavand top with scalloped detail, $65.
Mary Jane's is open Weds. through Sun. 11-7.
Bowood Farms, 4605 Olive, carries reasonably-priced and American-made tie-dyed skirts and tops from New York's Rough and Tumble Vintage. The skirts shown above are $45, the short-sleved tees shown below are $22, cardigans, $45, and scarves, $18.

At Libby's, 4742 McPherson, I found a soft blue cowl neck loose-fitting top with pockets from Comfy, $90, that could be layered and worn any season of the year, and an "oh my gauze" open-neck top with sleeves, $75, and matching loose-fitting pant, $70. The animal-print recycled paper tote in the photograph has a zip closure and is weightless, $27. The striped hat, lower right, with built-in sun protection, is on sale for $15.
Libby's, Tues. through Sat. 11 to 6, Sun. 11-4.
At Ivy Hill, 304 N. Euclid, a coral seamless tank is $28, a "free people" tan & black striped long knit column skirt is $78, "free people" pink & beige long-sleeve skinny top with shirred sides, $88, pale pink Corly top with a great zipper down the back is priced at $138. AG, 36 Maryland Plaza, carries long tank dresses in grey or denim-colored silk & vicoise, $144, that can be worn through several seasons paired with a jacket or sweater.
A periwinkle cotton/silk blend slim-raglan top, also available in antique white, is $98, and AG's newest denim (made in U.S.) jacket, which never goes out of style, is $275.
AG, Mon. through Sat. 11-7, Sun. 12-5.
10denza, 44 Maryland Plaza, has markdowns on summer clothing and has begun to put selections for fall on the floor as well. From left, a patterned dress from Clover Canyon can be worn now and with tights or jeans in cooler weather, $230; tie-dyed skinny jeans from Cult of Individuality are $99, and a Mason Scotch grey knit dress with tasseled-fringe on shoulders is marked down to $69.30. A great-looking 360 knit taupe sleeveless sweater in linen and cotton with open-work is also on sale for $82.50. CWEnder Laura Marlow's necklace shown on the sweater is made with African Jasper and silver chain, $175. (Laura's jewelry has been so popular 10denza has reordered it.) Finally, a bronze-leather "George, Gina & Lucy" bag, shown at the top of the ladder, is on sale for $249.
10denza, Mon. through Sat. 12-8, Sun. 12-5.
Don't forget that AG, 10denza and Moris Fashions have lots of great clothing selections for men too.
